About Me

I am a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was born into it and was raised in it and have embraced it and now I practice it and teach it to my children.

I attended Brigham Young University and received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in April 2000. After receiving my degree, I taught the second grade for two years (2000-2002) and a bilingual kindergarten for one year (2002-2003). I then subbed for about six months (Oct 2003-March 2004). At that point, I was ready both financially and emotionally to stay home with the children (I was pregnant with number two and very sick at the time) and have been home with them ever since.  For seven years, I taught piano lessons and a preschool from my home.  Currently, with all my kids in school, I substitute teach on occasion.

During my first year of teaching, I met my husband through the local LDS Institute. We were married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple in June 2001. We had our first child in May 2003 and the next was born shortly thereafter in October 2004 and then they just kept coming. We now have seven children, five boys and two girls, currently ages 19, 17, 15, 14, 11, 9 and 6.My girls are number four and number six.

I enjoy blogging because I like to write and I like to share my opinions and ideas with others. Comments are greatly appreciated and help me feel as if someone is actually reading.

Other hobbies include drawing, reading, playing the piano and violin, scrapbooking (although, it's been a long time), sewing, cross stitching, cooking, and dabbling in many other interests.
